众国大使馆签发的护照记载“华盛顿”。签发日期/Date of issue：记载格式同出生日期 有效期至/Date of expiry：记载格式同出生日期 签发机关/Authority：公安部出入境管理局及英文“Exit & Entry Adnistration Ministry of Public Security”或中华人民共和国驻外大使馆或领事馆或其他机构。

护照通常都包含签发国的声明，向其它所有国家表明持有人为该国公民身份，并且请求允许其过境，同时享有国际法所规定的待遇。中国护照里的声明先用中文写出，接着用英文表述。中华人民共和国护照内的声明如下：
普通护照内首页均印有“中华人民共和国外交部请各**政机关对持照人予以通行的便利和必要的协助。”
英文翻译“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China requests all civil and litary authorities of foreign countries to allow the bearer of this passport to pass freely and afford assistance in case of need.”
82版护照在中英文字之间亦有法文翻译：“Le Ministère des Affaires Étrangères de la République Populaire de Chine prie les autorites civiles et litaires des pays étrangers de laisser passer librent le titulaire de ce passeport et de lui preter aide et assistance en cas de besoin.” 公务护照和外交护照要比普通护照多一句话：“本护照前往世界各国有效”。
英文为“This passport is valid for travel to all countries in the world.”
而美国的护照声明先用英语写出，接着用法语重复。
